THE CAPTAINS DRIVE IN

March 14, 2009 by carholme
The Captain's

The Captain's

The Captains decided to revive an old tradition by holding a Captains Drive In to mark the official start of the 2009 golfing season on Saturday, March 14th.

Club Captain John Busby, Lady Captain Claire Welfare and Junior Captain Danny Harris took it in turn to hit a drive off the first tee despite the efforts of assembled members attempting to put them off their shots ! Members had previously had the chance to guess where the respective three drives would come to rest on the fairway? in the rough? or out of bounds?. Funds raised went to support the Captain’s nominated charities this year which are St Francis School for the Disabled in Lincoln and the Lincoln Kidney Patients Association.

After the Drive In, members in teams of three took part in a Waltz Competition which was followed by a social event during the evening when all prizes were awarded.
